In Awe

Hello again from Tsukuba! Since our last update, the Lighthouse short-term missions team has come and gone. Every summer we look forward to serving together at the VBS English day camp, but this year was extra special since we are now serving full-time here in Ibaraki! We are absolutely in awe of all that God did while they were here. In total, over 60 kids came to the events, had lots of fun, and learned more about Jesus! This was the first year holding the event in Tsukuba (in addition to Chikusei), and the demand far outweighed the available spots! We're excited to see how God will continue to grow the church community at Tsukuba Life Church and expand these ministries!

Updates & Praise:

• The Lighthouse short-term missions team came in late July/early August, and it was wonderful to serve the kids and parents of Tsukuba and Chikusei alongside them!

• We are gearing up for new ministries this fall, with Malia starting an English children's minsitry program for Sunday school. Jeff has started helping with audio/visuals at church, and continues to meet with men for English conversation practice.

• Mason and Kaili had a great time at their former school's summer camp. It was so good to see their friends again!

• Mason and Kaili started at their new school last week. Praise God it's been a smooth transition for them so far!

Prayer:

• Please pray for these new ministry efforts, that we would be seeking the Holy Spirit's wisdom and guidance and that all of it would give God all the glory.

• Please pray for Malia as she works on an English teaching certification (TEFL) as she looks to launch highly requested English classes in the near future.

• Please pray for discernment for Jeff as he is looking into what further training he can do to better serve in Japan, be it theological training and/or more Japanese language study.

• Please pray as we settle into new rhythms in life and ministry in Tsukuba, especially for Mason and Kaili to settle into their new school nicely, that they would make new friends and feel at home.
