Pray for Japan - Day 6 Openness to God

To a woman riding a bicycle who has lost her groceries all over the street, a "good Samaritan" would shame her by coming to her aid. To a Shinto devotee, Buddha may be embraced as another kami (Shinto god) but the bible says the God of Abraham does not share His throne. To a high school student, it would be quite a battle for his soul as he has already been dedicated time and time again to kami as ceremonial events throughout childhood. All of these contribute to an uphill battle for the hearts and souls of the Japanese people just to be open to God. Our God is good. He is just and He is powerful. When He fights, He wins. But He also gives us the freedom to choose to open the door to Him, or not.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." (Matt 7:7-8)

Please pray today that those who hear about Jesus may open their ears to hear. Pray that God may block out distractions and lies that the deceiver loves so that people may be open to accepting the gift that Jesus offers so readily. Pray that the human mistakes of Christians or the history and background of Christianity may not stand in the way of people coming to God. Pray that each person may find themselves in the right circumstances and with the right people to feel comfortable exploring a new faith.
