Kanji Devotionals

As we prepare to move to Japan, we consider learning Japanese a great priority. On recommendation from a few friends who have lived in Japan, we decided to focus on vocabulary while in the U.S. and will count on learning grammar once we move. We signed up for an online service for learning Kanji (one of three Japanese writing types). Through this tool, we worked with anticipation to grow our knowledge of Japanese words but were surprised at the lessons in culture and God's heart for Japan that were uncovered along the way. Here we share with you some of the insights God has revealed and how He is compelling us toward respect, compassion and love for Japanese nationals.
