Today is the first day of our Tsukuba VBS at @tsukuba_life_church with the @missionslcc team! So excited to welcome the kids! #WalkersInJapan2025

Today was the last day for the kiddos at their current school, as we are moving from Yokohama to Tsukuba tomorrow. It's the only school they've gone to here since we moved to Japan 3+ years ago.

It's a small Christian school with a tight-knit community, and it's been a great place for the kids to grow and become accustomed to life in Japan. It's a bittersweet moment for sure, as we will miss the many friends we've made at the school, including teachers, classmates, and parents. The kids got some sweet keepsakes from their friends at their 送別会 (sobetsukai, or farewell party) that I know they'll cherish.

Compare today's photo (1st one) to the 2nd photo, which was their first day at their school in 2022. They were in 3rd grade (Mason) and 1st grade (Kaili) then, and are in 6th and 4th grades now, respectively. What a difference 3 years makes!

We know God has good things in store for us at our new home in Tsukuba, including a new school for the kids. Thank you for your prayers!

Today was the last day for the kiddos at their current school, as we are moving from Yokohama to Tsukuba tomorrow. It's the only school they've gone to here since we moved to Japan 3+ years ago.

We had a wonderful time putting on our Christmas events this year! From the Christmas services at @azaminochapel and Denen Grace Church, to the kids' and young adult outreach events, to the candlelight service that one of the church members preached the Christmas message, and Mason and Kaili performing at their school's Christmas celebration, it was all about giving God the glory and pointing to Jesus as the reason for the season. Thank you for your prayers! #MerryChristmas #WalkersInJapan2023

It was great having Jeff's dad in Japan for a visit for the first time! We ventured out into the cold to explore Minato Mirai in downtown Yokohama on his last night here before returning to the States. We had a wonderful time serving in Chikusei, Ibaraki at @saiwaicc two Saturdays ago! It was a kids' Christmas outreach event where we shared the true meaning of Christmas, and we were blessed with 20+ local kids who attended. A few families even attended church the next day! We had a great time at our annual retreat near Mount Fuji this past weekend! Great teaching, fellowship, and a bit of rest (as much as you can get with a 5-month-old!). After 3 nights away at their school's camp a 5-hour drive away in Nagano, Mason and Kaili are back home! It was definitely weird without them at home, especially knowing how far away they were. We missed them very much, but we thank God that it was a great experience for them! They had lots of fun playing games, doing crafts, making friends, singing worship, and learning about Jesus. Next time we'll just try to make sure Kaili remembers her toothbrush. :) #ぶっとびキャンプ #WalkersInJapan2023

To continue our end-of-summer hurrahs, we took the family to the Pokemon Cafe and Pokemon Center in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. The kids had a blast, and even got to see a giant Pikachu dance during the meal! #WalkersInJapan2022

We visited an interactive exhibit from teamLab at the Galaxy store, called Catching and Collecting in the Sacred Forest. The kids had fun collecting and learning about endangered and extinct species. You use Galaxy phones to catch, study, and release them. #GottaCatchEmAll

There are lots of "animal cafes" in Harajuku. The kids chose the one that had 4 kinds of animals to pet and play with: hedgehogs, otters, chinchillas, and rabbits. They had a blast! They loved shooting the otters with squirt guns. And we topped off the trip with a crepe dessert treat!
